Victor Frankenstein is impulsive; Owen Meany is impulsive.
Victor Frankenstein loved the same girl since his childhood; Owen Meany loved the same girl since his childhood.

Those are some good points but I think a major difference is that Owen Meany wanted to serve God and thought he was a prophet and VF wants to be God. And you said you hated the book but you still make reference to it and it still applies to much literature. Maybe A Prayer for Owen Meany wasnt that bad after all.

Victor and Owen do share similarities, but unlike Owen, Victor has a conscience. Victor is capable of guilt and fear. Owen, not at all.
I love Owen Meany...I really do...I just read another book where, even though it was a side plot, the absence of a strong mother figure nearly destroyed a family...hmm, Lear's darlings didn't have a mother figure, either...and VF's mother DIED while saving his betrothed...hmm, anger issues, Victor?
If you dont have a loving mother then you get screwed up and everything goes to hell. That is why there is nothing more important than women to our society and families. Since they are so important, can any one really be that weak? I say no since they have such an important role to play.
